Watercolor Zen
Watercolor Zen is a practice I started that involves placing a single mark down on top of a lightly colored wash, then letting each mark fall into place without overthinking or correcting it. Each stroke becomes both a response to the last and an invitation to the next, creating a quiet conversation between intention and flow. The process is slow and attentive. I focus on the breath, the weight of the brush, the way pigment blooms and settles into the paper. There is no sketch nor a fixed outcome, simply a willingness to trust the unfolding composition. Over time, the painting builds itself through accumulation, mark by mark, until an organic pattern or image begins to emerge. The result is less about representation and more about presence: a visual record of movement and process.
