armor
Although the title is armor - sitting here studying this work after a few years after I composed and painted it, I now see the cushion it embodies - which I suppose is a form of armor. It is shiny and glimmery. I favor metallics and paints that catch the light at certain angles. In most of my pieces like this one I always indicate day and night somewhere as well as an area of bright red which is my humanness. Lots of pooling and manipulation of the watercolor during dry down, a few fingerprints. It is not sealed and needs to be matted or framed with spacers. Speaking of being human on the lower left side there is a bit of red paint on the negative space from a rolling brush which I could not lift, so there it stays. It is watercolor and pencil on 11 x 14 translucent Yupo paper.
